About Serverminded

Serverminded is one honest voice across the whole home-server stack - storage, compute, networking, and home automation. The build guides live here; the gear comparisons live on focused sites we point you to.

What we do

• Write build guides that span the stack. "Build your first NAS", "a Proxmox box for Plex and Frigate", "a local-only smart home" - the decisions that cut across storage, compute, networking, and automation, in one place and one voice.
• Point you to the right gear, not our gear. We do not run a product catalogue here. Each guide links out to a focused site that compares the actual hardware on the specs that matter: NASdisks for drives, ServerRigs for mini PCs and accelerators, HomeSwitches for networking, and Domotics for smart-home devices.
• Stay honest about trade-offs. Every build has them. We name the compromise instead of pretending one path wins for everyone.

Our principles

• Guidance over hype. We describe what a build actually needs, then send you to compare the parts - not to whatever pays the most.
• Plain about limits. Where the right answer is "it depends", we say what it depends on rather than inventing a single verdict.
• One coherent voice. The focused sites go deep on their gear; Serverminded ties them together so a whole build makes sense.
